Deepwater Lead Completion Supervisor Rotational (14/14) position responsible for supervising drilling and completion activities for Hess Baldpate Field in Gulf of Mexico.


 Involved in planning and procedure writing for Baldpate decommissions and recompletions prior to start up.

 Supervised lube and bleed operations on annulus pressure.

 Supervised decommission work.  

 Supervised SIMOPs operations.

Deepwater Supervisor Rotational (14/14) position responsible for supervising drilling and completion activities for BHPB projects in the Gulf of Mexico.


 Drilled Mad Dog North as operations engineer and night drilling supervisor in 4553ft water on Transocean DD1 dual activity semi-submersible.

 Jetted 308ft 36in

 Drilled 26in to 6900ft.  

 Drilled 26in with pump and dump from 6900ft to 8700ft.

Nexen Petroleum USA Inc. Mar. 2010 –Jan. 2011


Deepwater Completion Supervisor Rotational (14/14) position responsible for supervising completion activities for Nexen Petroleum USA Inc. projects in the Gulf of Mexico.


 Deepwater/Shelf GOM Completions Drill Site Manager responsible for designing, and supervising completion activities for shelf and deepwater GOM completion work.  

 Involved in planning a MST one trip (4 zones) frac pack completion which includes perforating all four intervals simultaneously.

 Rig supervised the successful installation of a MST one trip (4 zones) frac pack completion utilizing a one trip over balanced TCP system consisting of two separate explosive trains (lower zone was ~700’ apart from upper 3 zones).

 Successfully frac packed all 4 zones in ~27 hrs. From the spotting of the lower zone pre frac acid to upper zone reverse out.          


BP Americas   2008-Feb. 2010


Deepwater Completion Supervisor Rotational (14/14) position responsible for supervising completion activities for BP Americas Thunderhorse and Holstein Projects Gulf of Mexico.


 Supervising single and smart well completions and workovers on Transocean Discoverer Enterprise dual activity drill ship and Prides Holstein Spar rig.  

 Completions consisting of installing CWOR’s, electric line or drill pipe sump packer installation, well bore cleanout, TCP under balanced perforating, isolation packer installations, frac packs with screens and packers and upper completions with of a maximum of seven control lines, gauges, chemical injection nipples, sub surface safety valves,  PBR’s, annular vent subs and casing nitrogen displacement, subset trees, tree hangers with single strings and well testing operations and fluid management.  

 Workovers consisting of casing leak detection, upper completion tubing/control line retrieval (parted below hanger), and subset pull and replace upper completion jewelry, tubing and tree swaps and subset coil tubing operations.

 Supervise well testing operations flowing permanent completions utilizing temporary subsea test trees and production systems.  Performed well clean-up, fluid separation, solids management and disposal operations.

 Supervise well testing operation utilizing DST/TCP operations during “shoot and pull’ run prior to well clean-up, fluid separation, solids management and disposal operations clean up and commission the well prior to its connection to the permanent production facility.


Hess Corporation   2006-2008


Deepwater Drilling and Completion Supervisor Rotational (28/28) position responsible for supervising drilling and completion activities for Hess Okume Field in West Africa Gulf of Guinea.


 Supervising single and intelligent completions and workovers on three rigs in the area.  The Noble Carl Norberg for shallow water completions, the Atwood Seahawk Tender Assist for TLP completions and the Sedco 700 for deepwater completions.

 Completions consisting of installing production risers, electric line or drill pipe sump packer installation, wellbore cleanout, TCP balanced perforating, isolation packer installations, frac packs with screens and packers and upper completions with hydraulic smart valves (one position or adjustable valves) consisting of a maximum of seven control lines, gauges, chemical injection nipples, gas lift mandrels, sub surface safety valves, pack off tubing hangers with dual strings, PBR’s, dry and subsea trees, tree hangers with single and dual strings and well testing operations and fluid management.  

 Workovers consisting of casing leak detection, expandable patches, subsea cut and pull upper completions for eventual sidetrack, TLP and subsea pull and replace upper completion jewelry and tubing, TLP and subsea coil tubing operations and dynamic kill experience.

 Supervise well testing operations on shallow and deepwater producer and injection (low and high permeability) wells.  Performed pressure transient, interference and deliverability (4 point and single point) well tests on permanent completions utilizing temporary subsea test trees and production systems.  Performed well clean-up, fluid separation, solids management and disposal operations.

 Supervise well testing operation utilizing DST/TCP operations during “shoot and pull’ run prior to well clean-up, fluid separation, solids management and disposal operations clean up and commission the well prior to its connection to the permanent production facility.

 Responsible for managing accounts on sand control, frac packing, stimulation, coil tubing, and down hole tools (shelf and deepwater) for selected accounts in Houston.

 Duties include designing a variety of completion jobs for the GOM, including the following:  Frac Packs, linear gel packs, high rate water packs, acid stimulations, and horizontal completions.     

 Also responsible for coordination of pre-job lab testing including, but not limited to the following:  compatibility testing, core testing, pill breaker testing, etc.

 Involved in frac pack jobs rdt’d into the Houston office.  Responsibilities include input in pre-job conference call meetings, running Stimplan Hydraulic software, set Pmax limits, run tubing movements, etc.

 Actively involved in CWOP meetings.

 Also responsible for developing procedures, preliminary frac pack designs, post job evaluations, etc.

 Served as account leader on specific accounts for all product lines in the sand control completions division.

 Responsible for other miscellaneous duties in Houston Explorations’ office.  Some of these were MMS wellbore completion schematics, MMS procedures, and assisted in writing Operator’s completion prognosis.


Baker Oil Tools, Houston, Texas   1997-1998


Account Representative (1997-1998)                                               


 Was responsible for designing and selling completion assemblies in the GOM.  

 Generated all tool schematics, pumping procedures, and perforating schematics for each job.

 Coordinated all activities with operations for each job and was on 24 hr call for any operational issue.

 Types of completion assemblies included:  singles, duals, single selective, triples, and horizontals.

Gravel Pack Tools Service Coordinator (1995 – 1996)


 Responsible for operations cost control, job design, ordering equipment, invoicing field tickets, and supervising employees.

 Also was “last check” to ensure all proper gravel pack tool assemblies, as well as making sure 3rd party items were loaded and ready to go.


Tool Specialist (1994 – 1995)

 Was responsible for running all gravel pack tool (and SCSSV) hardware.  Also assisted pumping operations as needed due to experience in the product line.

 Interacted with company men for mobilization of necessary products and services.

 Compiled necessary paperwork for each job.

 Special Projects:  Was required to act as an Offshore Supervisor for high profile jobs.  Duties included overseeing all product lines and ensured the jobs ran smoothly.

 Shop work also included stabbing crossover tools and packer assemblies.  

 Performed all QA/QC work associated with gravel pack tools prior to final assembly
